Alpen’s EcoOccasions has arrived to help you make Earth Friendly Choices for all your occasions!

Every product under the EcoOccasions banner has been produced with our impact on the earth in mind.

Our new EcoOccasions Sugarcane Tableware is made from 100% natural sugarcane fiber. Sugarcane fiber (also known as Bagasse) is the dry pulpy residue left after crushing sugarcane stalks and extracting the juice from cane sugar.
Sugarcane pulp is an excellent alternative to wood. While paper is produced from pulping wood from trees, Bagasse is the reclaimed byproduct from the huge sugarcane industry.

Re-production using bagasse is more environmentally friendly than Styrofoam or even recycled paper to produce, requiring less water and less energy. The fibrous nature of bagasse make it easy to mold into many shapes and sizes.
It is compostable, in both home and industrial settings. And will 100% biodegrade within 90 days. When sugarcane products degrade, they provide natural ingredients back to the environment since they are made from natural materials.

Being made from reclaimed and renewable resources, our tableware is the ultimate sustainable product.

EcoOccasions Paper Tablecovers

Our new EcoOccasions Paper Tablecovers are made from superior quality, FSC, 40gsm, embossed paper, making them recyclable and water resistant! They are printed with food safe inks and while they are still biodegradable & compostable, the ink covering means that they are best recycled with your normal paper recycling. View the range here!

“FSC” means that the paper sourced to make these tablecovers are from sustainable forests, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (insert hyperlink: https://fsc.org/en ).

The plastic which wraps and protects our product are all recyclable. They can be included with your “soft plastics” recycling program – in most states of Australia, soft plastics are returned to your local supermarket and sent to the REDcycle program (insert hyperlink: https://www.redcycle.net.au/ ) to be given new life as products such as recycled plastic benches, decking & even becoming an asphalt additive to build new roads!

EcoOccasions Woodenware
Alpen have had a strong history in sustainably sourced wooden & bamboo products, including our toothpicks and skewers, carnival sticks and many more. As we walk the earth ever more consciously, we are making Earth Friendly Choices with many of our product ranges.
All wooden and bamboo items in our ranges, including our Wooden Cutlery, are FSC sourced. They are from reputable, compliant factories with all testing procedures in place. Our woodenware ranges are migrating from our traditional Alpen Catering Collection to our new EcoOccasions range so that you can be confident knowing you have made an Earth Friendly Choice!

Wondering what to do with our EcoOccasions products after use or with the packaging you bought them in? All our products are labelled with the Australiasian Recycling Label icons as outlined by the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (which Alpen are a member of). Each segment of the packaging will have a dedicated logo, advising you how to dispose of the packaging to have the least environmental impact.
